Cake Tasting

With the exception that I thought the appointment was at 11:30 instead of 11:00, cake tasting went surprisingly well. Not being huge cake fans…. Brett and I had pretty low expectations.

They had 8 or 9 flavors available on a platter ready for us to consume. I thought they were all very good and it would have been a little hard to make a decision. Luckily, 3 or 4 of them had “coffee undertone” to them and so Brett (being a not-so-huge fan of coffee) nixed those out immediately.

Here are the flavors we chose:

Layer 1 (top) The Florence Tiramisu
Moist vanilla chiffon cake soaked in Kahlua, and filled with rich mascarpone filling, decadent chocolate mousse, and topped with a traditional dusting of cocoa powder.

Layer 2 (middle) Starry Nights Signature Chocolate Truffle Cake
Rich, moist, chocolate fudge cake layered with bittersweet chocolate mousse, and covered in decadent chocolate glaze. If there’s a better chocolate cake out there, we haven’t tasted it!

Layer 3 (bottom) Elegant Lemon Cake
Our most popular wedding cake. Creamy handmade lemon mousse filling, layers of vanilla chiffon cake, sweet raspberry jam, and topped with a tangy lemon curd. Elegant and delicious.

All cakes are natural and made from scratch. De-lish!
