Day 3: Sunset, Fort Worden

Today, we decided to lounge ALL DAY at Fort Worden. We slept in until 10:30! I continued knitting, and we at leftover pizza for lunch with a cosmo. It was half way through lunch, that I realized it’s official, I am a Wife! haha! We took an afternoon siesta, then headed down to the beach.

Today was 92 degrees. Actually warm enough to enjoy the beach, but not the fridged ocean waters. So, of course, I napped again (this wedding planning stuff makes a girl tired!) Brett enjoyed the sun and watched ships, float planes, and kids sandcasles being engulfed by the ocean water.

We decided to stop by the campground host and say hello. Of course our big motivation was to look at her sexy airstream! It’s the size Renee wants, and it’s SO COOL! I’m telling ya, we NEED one 🙂

We proceeded to drop by the commons (so I could access internet for a quick blog) and then went back to our site for a lovely Salmon, Ceaser salad, and Terra chip dinner. We made a camp fire and began reading to eachother until sunset.

“Project Everlasting”

What are we reading? Mom gave us the book “Project Everlasting” before we left, with a sweet note inside. We started reading it yesterday actually. It’s about two jaded bachelors who decide to travel the country in an RV, interviewing people who have been married 30+ years trying to find out what makes a marriage last. Brett and I are enjoying reading it outloud to eachother. It’s the perfect honeymoon book, not only sweet and funny, but it’s spurred some wonderful conversation. Thanks Momma Womma!

We got to enjoy the partial sunset from our campsite, and we could see it was amazing. Look at the light and reflections cast on our trailer. Brett was cleaning up dinner, and I couldn’t stand it any longer, I grabbed the camera and RAN to the beach (sans Brett). Though it was windy and cold, I was excited to snap a bunch of photos. Brett caught up and stayed for awhile, but then headed back to the campsite for clean up (what a deal!).

The last hint of sunset

On my way back I snapped what was left of the sunset from our campsite. What a perfect ending to a most relaxing day.
