A little gift…

rachgift.JPG

Today, I ran across a little “welcome home” gift that Rachael left at our house! It was the cutest set of appetizer plates along with a little note saying “Welcome home, Hope you and Brett and a fabulous week away!”

Thanks Rachael! You are such a sweet and thoughtful friend! Love ya!

How to care for your bamboo favors…

Our wedding bamboo

Debi did the research for this, here’s what she found from this website:

What is Lucky Bamboo?

Known for centuries as Lucky Bamboo, the plant is not a bamboo at all (botanical name: Dracaena) but a resilient member of the lily family that grows in the dark, tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia and Africa.

How Much Care Does Lucky Bamboo Need?

Keep water fresh by changing it every week, and always keep water levels at approximately an inch from the base of the canes. Lucky Bamboo prefers plenty of indirect sunlight and room temperatures at 65-70o. Although opinions differ on feeding, your Lucky Bamboo is a living organism, so it makes sense to occasionally add a mild solution to the water such as African Violet fertilizer. Since growth can be controlled by feeding, small amounts of fertilizer will keep the plant at a manageable size. (more…)

A visit to Tiffany’s

wedding364.png

Today, Brett took me to Tiffany’s to drop of my hand mirror for engraving. What a spectacular wedding present 🙂

The moment we exchanged cards on our wedding night on the roof of Court in the Square shortly after sunset, I knew it would be a moment I’ll remember forever. The city lights illuminated the sky, and in the background the crowd cheered at concert 1/2 a block away. It was the first time the two of us were alone for a little embrace, and a free moment for the ceremony and all the days activities to really set in. We hugged and laughed (and teared up a little)… It was a perfect pause to reflect on the evening.

Day 5: Fort Worden, Returning Home

This morning we were going to go on a tidal walk, but it looks like it might rain. Sooo, we are opting to go to Salal Cafe – 634 Water Street. I had a Mimosa, and both of our breakfasts were AMAZINGLY tastey! This will become a tradition when in Port Townsend for sure!

We returned to our site, packed up and hit the road. We went via the Tacoma Narrows Bridge instead of the ferry this time—to stop by the Airstream dealer. We’ve been very tempted to take the plunge into a beautiful sexy Airstream… but we’ve decided to think about the investment a tiny bit more.

While we were at the Airstream dealer… I saw I got a message from Renee “Alert A-fucking alert, an Airstream is on the “sale” lot where you bought your Finder”. How does she read my mind?

We returned home, to be welcomed by Bonnie and Clyde. By the looks of it—they missed us! We also had 2 packages on our doorstep. One from Troy and Meghan, and one from Gloria and Kevin. Thanks to both couples for the gifts! (I even restrained myself and waited until Brett was ready to open them too, haha!)

We topped the trip/night off with sushi from our favorite place Sushi Zen.

Day 4: Fort Worden

Brett’s on the airstream website again!

Today, the weather was windy. We went to the Commons and I blogged and drank coffee while Brett looked at Airstreams. (Does he know how to ward of post-wedding-bride-blues or what! haha) Then we went to the campsite and had pizza for lunch. We continued our pattern of relaxing with some reading and a walk down to the beach. We then layed in the bed and watched “The Wedding Planner”.

We broke into one of the bottles of wine that Uncle Ed and Aunt Virginia gave us as a gift.  “Pend d’Orelle Huckleberry Blush” It was vinted and bottled in Sandpoint Idaho. I have a serious thing for Blushes lately (my favorite summer wine) so I was interested in trying this one right away! It was really delicious and something ordinary. Brett had one glass, and I may have had 3! 🙂

Before we knew it, dinner time was here so we made hamburgers (delicious by the way) and made a big camp fire. I enjoyed the rest of the wine, and patiently waited for another amazing sunset, but it wasn’t that great today. Oh well, we’ve been lucky so far!

Day 3: Sunset, Fort Worden

Today, we decided to lounge ALL DAY at Fort Worden. We slept in until 10:30! I continued knitting, and we at leftover pizza for lunch with a cosmo. It was half way through lunch, that I realized it’s official, I am a Wife! haha! We took an afternoon siesta, then headed down to the beach. (more…)
