Today, we decided to head out to Hurricane Ridge. But first, a recap on lastnight… Boy was it WINDY! I thought the poor little Fun Finder was going to take off with us in it. Of course, it didn’t help we left the awning out until 3 am! I was invisioning the windstorm in Seattle last winter when it lifted the fun finder a few feet backwords!
Enjoying lunch in Port Townsend
We headed into town this afternoon, where we had yummy lunch in a charming little sandwich shop. Then, I found a yarn shop and bought a project to work on. It’s been atleast 1 year since I have knitted anything! Brett was so patient sitting on the bench outside. We then stopped for icecream and an italian soda before heading off to Hurricane Ridge.
Brett strolls the meadows trying to find me… hehe
It was about 85 degrees, but once we arrived at the top of Hurricane Ridge… it was a perfect 68 degrees for hiking! There were a ton of deer in the mountiain medows, and a couple of very noisy ravens.
We decided to hike sunrise point, which was beautiful and allowed us to touch some snow. Plenty of wildflowers are fresh in bloom, because the season with out snow is so short.
Our little deer friend hops by the car.
After our little hike, we decided to head back down to Port Angeles. On our way back, we had deer hopping right by the passenger side of the car! I was so excited, and I caught the little guy in flight as he hopped on by.
We had pizza (because you know that’s Brett’s second love) for dinner, and saw the movie “License to Wed”. I was exausted and had the hardest time staying awake! I fell asleep on our drive home, and managed to sleep until 10:30 am the next morning! Yaaaahoooo!
