Flowergirl POWER!

girls icecream

Renee, Brett, Tyler, Rylie, and I all met at Cold Stone for ice cream. Rylie & Tyler thought it was to celebrate Rylie’s birthday which happened to be March 2nd. After ordering some yummy ice cream, Tyler informs Rylie that there were flower girl tryouts last weekend. She’s whispering (well, sort-of) that Rylie should to ask me to “try out”. Rylie feels much to shy, so Tyler begins to ask who I’ve selected for a flower girl and if there are still tryouts. After a long conversation, she manages to ask me if our flower girls would be her and Rylie. After I said, “Well, I’m not sure…you guys might be too old” She informs me that, “WE’RE ALL YA GOT!” 🙂 Renee proceeds to look up the average flower girl age on her phone and we torment them a little longer (more…)

“She” by Elvis Costello

On our flight home, Brett and I discussed wedding music. I hate the “Here comes the bride song” so I refuse to walk down to that.

Brett immediately suggested two songs from Notting Hill: (I was addicted to the movie Notting Hill when it came out!). “She” by Elvis Costello. and “When You Say Nothing at All” by Roan Keating.

So, just like that, I have a song to walk down the isle, and we have a song for our first dance. Piece of cake! 🙂

The first week of being engaged…

Time to head back to Seattle. A week in Philly with our friends Gloria and Kevin has been more then perfect.

Personally, it’s given me time to process being a BRIDE (!) and wake up every morning to fun conversations about the possibilities of where, when, etc. The snow has stuck around, and I’ve been able to enjoy warm cups of tea in the AM with the sunshine filtering through the windows as I get used to the sparkly gem on my finger as I type!
